High-Speed Robot Hand

August 23rd, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

High speed motor fusion.

This robotic hand was developed in the Ishikawa Komuro Lab and displays some insane demonstrations of extreme dexterity.  The hand can dribble a ping pong ball, spin a pen, throw, catch, and even tie knots!

It will be amazing when one of these things can go down into the ocean and repair say, a fiber optic line, without ever bringing up the cable.

It would also be convenient if I ever became severely obese and needed Thing T. Thing to tie my shoes. :)
